This is an experienced and fully trained biller who acts as an "in-house" and dedicated employee but who works from a remote location providing the pertinent services that a healthcare practitioner requires. Perhaps the only difference between this person and an on-site employee is the fact that she/he can't be made to serve coffee. However, the biller saves you office space, computer equipment cost, benefit payments, overtime pay and perhaps even aggravations.
This person is paid on an hourly basis and in most cases almost half of the cost of an equivalent in-house employee. The hourly cost depends on the experience and the number of tasks that such a person can perform. Working with the employee is all done through the telephone which is no different than using the intercom when interfacing with the office staff. |
